-I've decided to sell my 2007 Aprilia Tuono. As I've said before this is by far the best motorcycle I've ever owned. It does it all, has been dead reliable, looks great, sounds amazing, and runs like a bat out of hell. Changing priorities have meant she hasn't been ridden in months. I'd prefer she go to a good home rather than just sit in my garage.

-A friend has decided to part with his Triumph TR7. Click here for photos and details.

-And believe it or not, I have some updates on the Mini.

Yesterday marked two years of Mini ownership and two years of hard work. The end is near though.

-Two day to go. What's left? Not much.

-I just posted up a link to Pirate 4x4's guide to automotive plumbing and fasteners but I have another one. They did an equally good write-up on cooling systems. It helped me quite a bit.
-I'm so busy wrenching on the Mini I have no time to tell you about wrenching on the Mini. If past performance is any indication I will NOT make my June 5th deadline. Me being the eternal optimist, I still think I just might make it.

-If you are in the Bay Area and like old cars, plan on attending the annual Hayward Mini Field Meet. Last year's turnout was great. The weather was perfect and the views were nice.
-More work done on the Mini.

-I knew nothing about fittings and not much more than that about fastener thread types when I started this project. This guide really helped me understand the differences, as well as the relative merits of each system. Even if you don't need it now, bookmark it as an excellent resource for later.
-Another Mini update.

-I'm not sure what to say. I watched last weekend's Formula 1 race and found myself....entertained! Is this the start of a trend? Let's hope so.
-In other F1 news, I want to announce that I would like to offer my services to any team interested. For the tiny sum of $100,000 I will NOT root for either of their drivers. When I pick a driver for the year, he is almost guaranteed to choke and paying me to root for a competitor is just cheap insurance. Don't believe me? I rooted for Schumacher in 2006, Raikkonen in 2008 and 2009, and this year I'm rooting for Vettel.
-Lastly, you may have noticed Felipe Massa stuggling a bit during the Australian G.P. Keep in mind though that we are just now entering his least-favorite season: Spring. (sorry)

-Let's say you need a practical new daily driver but you don't want to spend a fortune. You have a couple weeks of while you're in-between jobs and it is the middle of one of the worst winter's in American history. What do you do? Read about my choice here.
-I've compiled an Excel spreadsheet with race dates for 2010 F1, WRC, WSBK, and MotoGP.
-More Mini updates soon.

-The last big shipment of Mini parts finally arrived from England. Here's the latest on the rebuild.
-I still have a number of Mini parts for sale. As I find time in the next few weeks I'm going to blow them all out on eBay. Take a look now and email me an offer if you see something you're interested in.

-No Mini news! Some critical parts are on their way. Lots of progress then. In the meantime, here's an interesting test of aftermarket horns at Web Bike World. Their results matched my findings - that the Stebilus horn was less than impressive and the Hella Supertones are about the best horns currently on the market.
-Here's a joke only MotoGP fans will understand: ![]()
-And finally, here's some fun Mini racing from this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed:

Where has the time gone? Almost two months since my last update, but I do have a legitimate excuse: I haven't been doing anything! Actually, that's not entirely true. I've been spending time relaxing with family and friends. Hopefully it has given me enough energy to complete the Mini rebuild in short order. I should have some big news soon but in the meantime, have a look at my latest progress.
Or instead, check out this little Mini at a trackday. There are a number of videos like this on the web, but this particular one really caught my eye because it is green, similar to how I plan on painting mine and is also powered by a Yamaha R1 engine.

-I have a number of new Mini parts for sale, things I ordered but won't be needing for my rebuild.
-I recently discovered a fantastic resource for car and motorcycle owners in the SF Bay Area: Suspension Performance. The owner, Eric Gauthier, is not only an accomplished engineer formerly with Lotus, he's a French Enduro champion. I'll be taking the Mini to Eric to handle all the corner weighting, alignment, etc.
-And finally, yet another Mini update. Sadly this is a small one. Progress is still being made though.
