Mini Rebuild
Step 33 - Throttle
Two quick items:
The fuel tank is in. I purchased this larger used tank and measured its capacity at 9 gallons although others had referred to it as a 7.5 gallon-capacity tank. The discrepancy was finally resolved when I was reminded that it is both! 7.5 Imperial gallons equals 9 gallons U.S. Of course, right after I finish making a custom bracket and getting it installed in the car, I find out that I actually need a later fuel-injected Mini tank. Ugh. More on this later.
And finally the driver's floor plate is installed along with the throttle pedal.
To fill the gap between the plate and floor panel, I placed these rubber spacers. They help spread the load out as well as damping vibration. I found these online. They are used to level billiard tables and come in a variety of thicknesses.
