Ferrari Challenge - Sears Point, April 15, 2007
You might remember that I attended this same event last year and had a great time. This year was no different. For 2007 the inclusion of the FXX cars and the ex-Formula 1 cars of the Corse Clienti program meant there was lots of wonderful music in the air throughout the day. The Challenge race on Sunday was really fun to watch. There was some kind of drama every single one of the first 8 laps and a majority of the others where I was seated at Turn 2. Scroll down and see for yourself. It appears everyone's tires started to lose grip in the last third of the race as the 430's refused to stay hooked up accelerating out of turn 2.
I participated in the kart challenge in the paddock again this year. I improved on last year's 3rd place finish to take 1st place! Sadly, Ferrari decided to un-improve the 1st place prize from last year's free admission to the Ferrari Driving School at Mont Tremblant to........nothing. A bit of a disappointment but I still had a blast racing. I think I need to buy a race kart.
